Photoshop CS 101

Learn what makes Photoshop the standard in image editing. This course is a general overview of the fundamental aspects of the program.

This workshop is taught over a course of 2 consecutive days. 6hrs each day with 30 to 60 minutes for a lunch break.

Course Outline:

- Workspace: tools, menus, panels, navigation and viewing options
- Adobe Bridge: organize, compare, rank and filter your images
- Terminology: file size, resolution, bit depth and color spaces
- Painting Tools: learn how to use the Brush and Gradient Tools
- Editing and Retouching: crop straighten, clone, heal and red eye
- Selections: overview of selection tools and modifying selections
- Adjustments: applying filters, basic tonal and color adjustments
- Output: printing options and saving your images for the web

Who Should Attend?

New Photoshop users or anyone looking to gain a more solid foundation in the program and start using it more efficiently.

Instructor Profile

Paul Kelly is an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign with over fifteen years experience teaching graphic applications on both Mac and Windows in advertising and corporate environments, community colleges and private institutions. He also runs a design business providing freelance creative, layout and design for everything from advertising and package design to web sites and interactive presentations.

  • Pre-registration and payment is required for all courses.
  • All courses begin promptly at stated times.
  • The School of Imaging reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course without notice.
  • In the event of a course cancellation or postponement, all pre-registered attendees will be notified to arrange another suitable date.
  • Customers may reschedule or refund registrations up to 48 hrs prior to the course start time at no charge.
  • If less than 48 hrs notice is given, up until the course start time, only rescheduling will be offered and an administrative fee will apply. (See Fee Table)
  • Refunds will not be issued and rescheduling will not be permitted, if requested after the stated course start time. Missed courses are not eligible for refunds or rebooking.
  • Course credits with the School of Imaging will be valid for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase of the original course.

Special Events

  • Tickets for special events taking place off-site are final sale and non-refundable.
  • The School of imaging reserves there right to cancel or postpone any special event without notice.
  • In the event of an event cancellation or postponement, all pre-registered attendees will be notified to arrange a refund or alternate date.
