Creative Urban Photography - Toronto Downtown
Taking a storytelling and photojournalistic approach, students are guided through lessening dependence on automatic shooting modes. Semi-automatic and manual camera modes will be explored with the ultimate goal of leveraging the creative capabilities of the camera. This workshop challenges the student to think beyond 'correct' exposure, with the goal of capturing images with an artistic flair. The entire workshop takes places in an urban outdoor setting under the guidance of the photographer Daniel Garcia.
Prerequisites:
Any DSLR Part 2 Workshop (Composition & Creativity workshop also recommended)
Course Outline:
- In-depth use of creative shooting modes (aperture/shutter)
- Creative use of depth of field, motion blur and subject blur
- Photojournalistic approaches to storytelling
- Lens selection criteria and lens effects
- Creative use of available light
Who Should Attend?
Students who have taken the above mentioned prerequisite and recommended indoor workshops (or have equivalent knowledge) and are eager to apply what they've learned outside in the real-world environment.

MEETING LOCATION INFO:
The meeting point for this course will be at our Church Street entrance of our Henry?s Toronto location. The instructor, Daniel Garcia, will lead you through a Downtown core route that will give you numerous photographic opportunities. Explore the urban feel, architecture and parks as you walk back to the initial meeting point.
