In this workshop you'll explore the power and extensive capabilities of the Nikon flash systems. You'll discover how to utilize single flash units to great effect, and work up to the use of multiple flash units with wireless technologies for more elaborate portable studio use. In addition to the flash units themselves, you'll explore the use of additional accessories (gels, reflectors and more) that can help create the ultimate in light quality and mood for your subjects.
Prerequisites:
Any DSLR Part 2 Workshop (Mastering Flash workshop also recommended)
Course Outline:
- Use of fill flash to balance background and foreground light
- Overpowering the sun using high speed sync technique
- Use of gels for creative and corrective effect
- Introduction and use of various flash modifiers
- Expanding to multiple flash units with wireless TTL setups
- Use of ratios in wireless TTL setups

What To Bring To Class:
Your camera
A fully charged battery for your camera
A full set of charged batteries for each external flash you bring
One or more external flash units (Nikon SB800, SB900 or similar)
Thorough understanding of the concepts covered in our DSLR part 2 workshops is strongly recommended. Concepts covered in our Mastering Flash workshop would also be beneficial but are not mandatory. Ownership of a Nikon SB800, SB900 series or similar flash unit is strongly recommended and will be of use to you in the workshop.
