This course started me off on the right foot! I had expected to just set everything to AUTO ... but after the three hours were up, I had learned so much about the program features, ensuring that I'd be able to produce high-quality photos in any challenging light situation. The instructor, André, was knowledgable, animated and enthusiastic, which made learning even more pleasurable than I had expected. My only issue is the Henry's website ... It's not user-friendly ... I'm encountering difficulty locating the course notes!

Having taken pictures for years on "Auto" I am certainly still a beginner photographer. With a new point and shoot for Christmas, I decided to take this workshop and I am so glad I did! Duke was the instructor. Not only was he a very likeable fellow who shared his vast knowledge through an easy-going teaching style, he was obviously also an excellent and passionate photographer. The workshop presentation was concise and informative as he covered the various topics. Of course, Duke was full of directions on how to take better pictures by using the various camera settings, but he also offered plenty of suggestions on how to take advantage of new and improved camera equipment to make your picture-taking produce even better results, easier. This course was money and time very well spent, and I am sure my pictures will prove it. Thank you very much, Duke!
I've been taking pictures for years wondering why some looked great while others didn't. I was looking for consistency through knowledge. In 3 hrs I learned more than my years of hit and miss photography. I feel more confident now to travel and to take more consistent pictures that will tell a story, evoke memories and emotion. While I won't be procuring jobs as a photographer, I know now how I can take better, impressive pictures with my point & shoot. Thanks Robert, great class!
I took the Point and Shoot photography course this past Saturday in Brantford. The instructor Christine was awesome. She took us step by step trhough the power point presentation always checking to see if we had questions and to make sure our cameras were set properly or we understood the various settings. It was very hands on and I felt no question that I asked was a stupid one. I would highly recommend this course. I have some photography experience and just purchased a Nikon Coolpix P100. I tried the manual and just experimenting myself but found out just by taking this course about so many different settings and working with light and not using a flash. I have printed all of my notes and know they will aid me in taking beautiful photos. Thanks Christine!
Having used my camera for a little over a year, I feared being bored by "basics". Well, I was SO wrong! This workshop more than exceeded my expectations... I tried going through the manual, but Andre (our instructor) just made it all so simple. NOW I can understand the manual. I not only learned where to find all the different settings, but how to use them for all the wonderful photos I have seen others take with non-DSLR cameras. We did have a short break, which gave others the opportunity to stay and get more one on one. I have just printed out the workshop notes to keep as a reference, and I am just so stoked to go out and try it all out!!! Definitely worth every last penny, and would highly recommend to anyone still shooting in Auto, or even Scenes!
When I take a class, I'm usually pretty happy if I can take away two or three new ideas or pieces of information and put them to good use. With this class, I got so much more! Our instructor Phil was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He was able to teach us about many of the functions of our cameras -- and it didn't matter what brand you had, Phil knew them all. I was very impressed. I took many notes and have just downloaded the class notes to help me remember everything. I really look forward to playing with all the new "tools" I have and taking some better pictures. This class was worth every penny. My only criticism was that there was no break in the class, making the 3 hours feel very long. It was hard to retain everything by the end. Make sure you take some water and a snack to keep you going.
